FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Compostable Bags
What are your compostable bags made of?
Our compostable bags are manufactured using a blend of materials including PLA, PBAT, and cornstarch, or a combination of PLA and PBAT. These materials are derived from renewable resources and are specifically chosen for their compostable properties.
Do your compostable bags meet any compostability standards?
Yes, our compostable bags are certified to meet a variety of globally recognized compostability standards, demonstrating their ability to break down safely in different composting environments. These certifications include:
- TUV HOME Ok compost: Certified as home compostable by TUV Austria.
- TUV Ok compost: Certified as industrially compostable by TUV Austria.
- ASTM D6400 (BPI): Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) as industrial compostable.
- AS 5810 (ABA): Complies with the Australian Standard for home composting.
- AS 4736 (ABA): Complies with the Australian Standard for industrial composting.
- EN 13432 (Din Certco): Complies with the European standard for compostability.
What breaks down compostable bags?
Compostable bags break down through the action of microorganisms in a composting environment. Under suitable conditions (sufficient moisture and appropriate temperature), these microorganisms consume the bag material, breaking it down into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass (humus).
How long do compostable bags take to break down?
The decomposition time of our compostable bags depends on factors such as temperature, moisture levels, the presence of microorganisms, and the type of composting facility (home or industrial). Generally, under composting conditions, our bags will break down within 3-6 months.
What is the shelf life of compostable bags?
Our compostable bags have a shelf life of 10-12 months from the date of manufacture. It’s best to store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to maximize their shelf life.
Will your compostable products biodegrade in a landfill?
No, our compostable products are specifically designed to break down in composting environments where optimal conditions (moisture, temperature, microorganisms) are present. Landfills lack these conditions, so the bags will not readily biodegrade there. Composting, whether at home or in an industrial facility, is the intended and most effective way to dispose of our compostable bags.
Are compostable bags stronger or weaker than traditional plastic bags?
Performance can vary by brand and specific formulation. Early compostable bags sometimes had issues with strength or moisture resistance. However, technology has improved significantly. Our compostable bags offer comparable strength and functionality to traditional plastic bags for their intended purpose.
FAQs about QC (Quality Control)
What processes do you have in place to ensure quality control and consistency?
We will have professional quality inspectors to check the products every 2 hours. In addition, after the finished product is made, some tests are carried out, such as tensile, load-bearing and leakage tests.
FAQs about Custom Services
What is the full range of services your company offer?
We offer a wide rang of services, including technical support, custom artwork design, tailored bag manufacturing, custom packaging design.
How do you handle customization or tailor your services to specific client needs?
